4130M
AISI 4130 MOD: ASTM A-29, ASTM A-519, & API 5CT
GENERAL SCOPE:
4130 Mod is a low alloy steel that is commonly used in a variety of down hole tools, casing, tubulars, and accessories that require deep hardening strength with excellent impact resistance. It is a heat treatable alloy steel that contains nominally .25% Carbon, with Chromium and Molybdenum as the primary hardening elements.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This alloy is suitable for achieving compliance to NACE MR-01-75/ISO 15156 at hardness levels exceeding Rc-22 after heat treatment.
4130M is also considered an upgrade over 4130 that can maintain good strength and excellent impact properties deeper into the product.
