AISI 8620: ASTM A-29, & API SPEC 6A
GENERAL SCOPE:
8620 is a low alloy steel that is used in a variety of oilfield applications that require low strength or will be subjected to surface hardening. This alloy steel contains nominally .20% Carbon, with low levels of Chromium, Nickel, and Molybdenum.
This grade is a common alloy used for carburizing, where a high surface hardness and good core ductility are required.
